Make your own commitment to getting your home ready for beautiful weather ahead. It goes to show that people are serious about their March cleaning! March also gives additional external motivation because of National Clean Out Your Closet Week (March 13-19), Clutter Awareness Week (March 19-25), and National Cleaning Week (March 26-April 1). Over the next three weeks, I will be focusing on Spring Cleaning and decluttering my home, but also giving some tips and motivation to do your own. There are yet others who trace it to the Catholic Church’s tradition of cleaning the church altar and its surroundings the day before Good Friday. Iranians call this Khaneh-Tekani which means “shaking the house.” So cool! Others owe its origins to the Jewish custom of cleaning the home in anticipation of Passover. Some believe that it has origins that trace it to a practice related to the Persian New Year which is on the first day of Spring. I found a bit of info on Wikipedia, so if it differs from what any of you may know, I would love to hear your feedback. It’s also time to relaunch Operation Spring Cleaning and Decluttering. This also means that even though we may see more snow it is time to talk about Spring Cleaning. This weekend begins Daylight Savings, and spring officially arrives on Monday, March 20th. I’m having a hard time accepting that Spring is right around the corner since March is usually the snowiest month in Colorado. ![]()
